The Opportunity:

As the Head of Music, you will lead a thriving department and shape the musical education of students at a school known for its outstanding academic achievements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Music department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive music curriculum that inspires and challenges students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular links and enrichment opportunities.
  • Promote and manage extra-curricular music activities, including ensembles and performances.
  • Support the school's mission by fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and spiritual growth.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide priorities.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of resources and facilities within the Music department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in leading a Music department.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Music and a commitment to delivering high-quality lessons.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a team of teachers and support staff.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic school or similar educational setting.
  • Background in performing arts or music production.
  • Leadership experience in a school or educational organisation.
  • Experience in developing and managing extra-curricular music programmes.
