The Opportunity:
The Head of PE teacher will lead the development of a dynamic and engaging sports program that supports the physical and mental well-being of students. This role is ideal for a passionate and experienced PE teacher who is committed to promoting active lifestyles and student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive PE and sports curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Introduce and manage a fitness program for the sixth form, promoting health and well-being.
- Expand and enhance the after-school sports program to encourage participation and talent development.
- Lead the Duke of Edinburgh programme in collaboration with the coordinator.
- Ensure a high-quality, inclusive, and stimulating PE experience for each year group.
- Support and mentor PE staff to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
- Promote a culture of physical activity and healthy living throughout the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in PE at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Proven leadership experience in a school or college setting.
- Strong knowledge of sports and physical education curriculum development.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or managing a PE department.
- Familiarity with the Duke of Edinburgh programme.
- Experience in developing and implementing fitness programs for students.
- Experience with curriculum design and assessment strategies.
