Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Physics department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the department, aligned with the school’s educational goals.
- Collaborate closely with the Heads of Biology, Chemistry, and the Head of Science to enhance the overall Science curriculum.
- Support and contribute to the extra-curricular programme and the pastoral care of students.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development among staff.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all learners achieve their full potential.
- Represent the department in meetings, events, and external engagements.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a senior academic role, preferably in a school or educational institution.
- Strong subject knowledge and experience in teaching Physics at all levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the school.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities or pastoral support.
- Experience with leadership in a co-educational setting.
- Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and technologies.
