The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Head of Spanish to lead and innovate within a dynamic and strong department. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Spanish department to ensure academic excellence and student engagement.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning, incorporating innovative and digital approaches.
- Support the professional development of staff within the department.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring continuous improvement in outcomes.
- Represent the department at school-wide meetings and events.
- Promote the study of Spanish both within and beyond the school community.
- Contribute to the development of the school’s language curriculum and extracurricular offerings.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a senior teaching or departmental role.
- Strong subject knowledge in Spanish and a commitment to language education.
- Experience in curriculum development and teaching at all key stages.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and integrate technology in teaching.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or team in a school setting.
- Ability to offer a second language as an additional skill.
- Experience with digital literacy and online teaching platforms.
- Experience in developing and delivering extracurricular language programmes.
