Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Physics department, ensuring high academic standards and student engagement.
- Develop and implement a dynamic and challenging curriculum that supports student achievement.
- Inspire and motivate students through innovative teaching and learning strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance cross-curricular links and student outcomes.
- Supervise and support departmental staff, providing professional development and mentorship opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Represent the department at school events and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the school.
- Ensure the use of up-to-date resources and technology to enhance the learning experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Physics.
- Proven leadership experience in a school setting, ideally as a Head of Department.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- High expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience with leading a successful Science department.
- Familiarity with co-educational settings.
- Experience in developing and delivering innovative science curricula.
- Experience with using technology in teaching and learning.
