The Opportunity:
As a Student Support Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, and staff, providing essential support for student well-being and academic success. This role is critical in ensuring students receive timely assistance and are directed to the appropriate support services when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a professional and efficient administrative service with a focus on accuracy and minimal errors.
- Act as the first point of contact for first aid, recording, administering, and monitoring medical needs.
- Deliver a responsive and effective reception service, handling incoming calls, emails, and internal/external inquiries.
- Maintain and update information systems and support the team with administrative tasks.
- Liaise with school staff and families to ensure students receive appropriate support and guidance.
- Respond to emergency alerts and support students in times of crisis, ensuring their physical, mental, and social well-being.
- Facilitate communication between students, parents, and the wider student support team.
- Support the team in creating and maintaining positive relationships with students and families.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in a reception or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
- First aid trained and capable of treating minor injuries and administering medication.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with special educational needs.
- Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience with school information systems or administrative software.
- Previous experience in a student support or pastoral care role.
