The Opportunity:

As a Student Support Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, and staff, providing essential support for student well-being and academic success. This role is critical in ensuring students receive timely assistance and are directed to the appropriate support services when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a professional and efficient administrative service with a focus on accuracy and minimal errors.
  • Act as the first point of contact for first aid, recording, administering, and monitoring medical needs.
  • Deliver a responsive and effective reception service, handling incoming calls, emails, and internal/external inquiries.
  • Maintain and update information systems and support the team with administrative tasks.
  • Liaise with school staff and families to ensure students receive appropriate support and guidance.
  • Respond to emergency alerts and support students in times of crisis, ensuring their physical, mental, and social well-being.
  • Facilitate communication between students, parents, and the wider student support team.
  • Support the team in creating and maintaining positive relationships with students and families.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience in a reception or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • First aid trained and capable of treating minor injuries and administering medication.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Experience with school information systems or administrative software.
  • Previous experience in a student support or pastoral care role.
