The Opportunity:

As the Head of Psychology, you will lead and mentor a team of Psychology teachers, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a school that values growth, innovation, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Psychology teachers to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share outstanding practice and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that align with the school's vision and curriculum.
  • Foster a positive school culture by engaging in extra-curricular activities and community events.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for teachers and encourage a growth mindset.
  • Work closely with students, parents, and colleagues to support student well-being and academic success.
  • Ensure the Psychology department meets all academic and professional standards.
  • Contribute to the development of the school’s curriculum and pedagogical approaches.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Hold a BEd or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team of teachers.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding learning and teaching.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Commitment to professional growth and a solution-focused, reflective approach.

Preferred

  • Experience with British Schools Overseas (BSO) accreditation and programmes such as NQT, QTS, and iPGCE.
  • Background in international education or cross-cultural environments.
  • Experience in developing and leading a Psychology curriculum.
  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities and community engagement.
