The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Second in Charge of English (KS4 lead) to join our high-performing department. This role offers the chance to lead and support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning in Key Stage 4 English, while contributing to the overall success of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Head of English in the strategic development and leadership of the department
• Ensure the quality of teaching, learning, and student progress in Key Stage 4 English
• Teach across Key Stages 3-5
• Act as a form tutor
• Participate in and contribute to extra-curricular activities within the department

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with relevant experience
• Ability to inspire and engage students
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Understanding of curriculum priorities for English
• Ability to articulate the importance of English in developing young people

Preferred

• Experience in a leadership role within a school department
• Experience in leading Key Stage 4 provision
• Experience with National professional qualifications
• Strong collaboration and team-working skills
