The Opportunity:

As Head of Science Faculty, you will lead a dynamic team and shape the delivery of science education across multiple key stages. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence curriculum development and inspire both students and colleagues, making a lasting impact on educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Science Faculty, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A Level.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the science curriculum, aligned with school goals and student needs.
  • Supervise and support staff, providing professional development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching in your specialist subject area, up to and including A Level.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to school-wide initiatives and events.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring consistent achievement and improvement.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
  • Represent the faculty in meetings, inspections, and external partnerships.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, preferably in a school setting.
  • Demonstrable leadership and management experience, including curriculum development and team leadership.
  • Strong classroom practice with a track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.
  • In-depth knowledge of science education at Key Stage 3, GCSE, and A Level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a faculty or department within a large school or academy.
  • Familiarity with A Level Psychology and Combined Science qualifications.
  • Experience in supporting school-wide events and community engagement initiatives.
  • A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in education.
