The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Physics Subject Leader to inspire students and develop the Physics curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape teaching and learning, and to influence the future of Physics education at the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging Physics lessons that inspire students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Support and motivate students to pursue Physics at GCSE and A Level.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Physics curriculum and learning experiences.
  • Model best practice in Physics teaching and lead professional development for staff.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure high standards of achievement.
  • Promote extra-curricular opportunities in Physics to enhance student engagement.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to align departmental goals with school objectives.
  • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality, inclusive, and challenging Physics curriculum.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Physics education.
  • Strong track record in teaching Physics at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student progress and achievement.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or acting as a middle leader.
  • Familiarity with GCSE and A Level Physics qualifications.
  • Experience with extra-curricular Physics activities or clubs.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and pedagogical approaches in Physics.
