The Opportunity:

A Lead Netball Coach is sought to join a dynamic and experienced sports department. This role will support the strategic planning, delivery, and management of a thriving netball programme, while contributing to the broader life of a busy boarding school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality netball coaching to students of all abilities.
  • Plan and manage training sessions, fixtures, and tournaments in line with the school’s sporting calendar.
  • Collaborate with the sports science team to support athlete development and performance analysis.
  • Mentor and guide aspiring athletes, helping them progress in their sporting journey.
  • Support the delivery of the school’s sport science programme and athlete training initiatives.
  • Engage with students and staff, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during all sports activities.
  • Contribute to the overall sporting vision and strategic goals of the sports department.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 qualification in sports coaching or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with young athletes in a school, club, or pathway coaching environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in strategic planning and programme management within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with sport science principles and athlete development frameworks.
  • Experience with professional sports organisations or pathways.
  • Knowledge of coaching methodologies and performance analysis techniques.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £26,000 pro rata.
  • 25 hours per week, term time plus, with flexibility based on the fixture calendar.
