The Opportunity:

As the Head of Year and Wellbeing Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the pastoral care and wellbeing of students within a specific Year Group. This position offers the chance to lead and inspire, ensuring students are supported academically, emotionally, and spiritually. Your leadership will contribute directly to the school’s mission and the success of its students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of students within the Year Group.
  • Monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions to support academic and personal achievement.
  • Collaborate with Form Tutors and external agencies to provide comprehensive pastoral support.
  • Develop and evaluate strategies for behaviour management and learning support.
  • Promote the school’s Christian ethos and values through all pastoral activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, ensuring their full potential is realised.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to whole-school development and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Organise and lead events and activities that enhance student engagement and community spirit.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a pastoral or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of student wellbeing and support strategies.
  • Experience in managing and developing Year Groups or similar roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external agencies.
  • Commitment to the school’s Christian ethos and values.

Preferred

  • Experience in pastoral care or student support roles.
  • Background in chaplaincy or religious education.
  • Experience with behaviour management and learning support strategies.
  • Familiarity with whole-school development initiatives.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
