The Opportunity:
As the Head of Sport, you will lead and develop the school's sports program, ensuring boys are encouraged to participate in physical activity through both competitive and friendly sports. This role is pivotal in shaping a vibrant sporting culture and supporting the overall development of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and implement the sports curriculum to meet the needs of all students.
- Create a positive and supportive environment that promotes physical and emotional wellbeing.
- Organise and manage fixtures, events, and trips in collaboration with other schools.
- Liaise with coaches and transport providers to ensure smooth logistics for sporting activities.
- Work closely with facility managers to arrange and manage sports grounds and venues.
- Provide pastoral support and monitor the progress and development of students.
- Promote lifelong participation in sport and foster a culture of enthusiasm and engagement.
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure consistent delivery of sports programs across all year groups.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience teaching in Early Years and Key Stages 1 and 2.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to provide pastoral care and support student wellbeing.
- Relevant qualifications such as PGCE, QTS, or equivalent.
- Proven ability to motivate and engage young people.
Preferred
- Experience in coordinating PE, games, swimming, and other sporting opportunities.
- Background in continuous professional development.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a school setting.
- Passion for sport and a commitment to promoting lifelong participation.
