The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic PE Teacher to join our team and inspire children from Reception to Year 6. This role is ideal for someone passionate about teaching sports, including gymnastics, dance, and Games, with a focus on developing a love for physical activity and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality PE and Games lessons across the primary age range, including gymnastics, dance, and a variety of sports.
- Coordinate and lead a co-educational games programme in Year 3 and 4, ensuring all children participate in a wide range of sports.
- Encourage and support children in developing a 'growth mindset' through physical activity and challenge.
- Work collaboratively with the PE and Games team to ensure a consistent and engaging curriculum.
- Promote inclusivity, safety, and fun in all sporting activities.
- Monitor and assess student progress in PE and Games, providing constructive feedback.
- Organise and lead extracurricular sports activities and events.
- Maintain a positive and motivating learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in primary PE and Games.
- Previous experience in coaching Netball.
- Strong knowledge of gymnastics, dance, and a range of team sports.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in a co-educational setting.
- Familiarity with the IAPS curriculum and standards.
- Experience with teaching children aged 4 to 11.
- Strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
