The Opportunity:

As the Head of Sports Performance Analyst, you will lead the collection and interpretation of performance data to drive athlete development and decision-making. This role is pivotal in supporting the Mustang High Performance Team through advanced data analysis, technology integration, and performance profiling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the collection and interpretation of biometric, physiological, and performance data across all high performance athletes.
  • Manage the delivery and analysis of video footage from fixtures, training, and performance testing to support individual and team development.
  • Create and maintain custom dashboards (e.g. Power BI, TeamBuildr, VALD) to track trends, highlight concerns, and inform coaching decisions.
  • Collaborate with coaches to build performance profiles and ensure tailored feedback is delivered to athletes and parents.
  • Produce monthly reports analysing wellbeing, load, attendance, behaviour, and performance data to identify trends and areas for intervention.
  • Create visual and video-based coaching content to support technical and tactical development.
  • Explore and implement emerging technologies and AI tools to enhance performance tracking and auto-tagging software.
  • Support the development of digital portfolios for athletes seeking scholarships or external performance opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree in Sports Science, Performance Analysis, Data Science, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification desirable).
  • Experience working in a school, academy, or professional sport setting in a performance analysis or data role.
  • Proficiency in performance software (e.g. HUDL and VALD) and data visualisation platforms (e.g. Power BI).
  • Strong understanding of athlete monitoring systems, video tagging, and load management.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information clearly to coaches, athletes, and parents.
