The Opportunity:

As Head of Year - EYFS, you will play a key role in shaping the educational journey of young children, ensuring their academic, social and emotional development. This is an exciting chance to lead a year group and contribute to a school known for its high standards and innovative approach to early years education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a year group within the EYFS provision, ensuring the wellbeing and development of all pupils.
  • Work closely with the Director of Early Years and Senior Leadership Team to drive progress and maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Oversee assessment processes and coordinate parent engagement, ensuring clear communication between pupils, parents and staff.
  • Support attendance and pastoral care, contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Lead and coach colleagues, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Develop and maintain an inspiring EYFS learning environment that reflects the school’s values and ethos.
  • Ensure smooth transitions across year groups and Key Stages, supporting pupils’ academic and personal growth.
  • Promote the school’s values and culture through consistent leadership and high expectations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as an Early Years practitioner with a strong understanding of child development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a year group effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to present confidently to parents and staff.
  • Strong understanding of assessment and curriculum development in the EYFS.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and coaching colleagues within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of innovative teaching and learning approaches in the Early Years.
  • Experience with parent engagement and pastoral care initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the diamond structure of education, if applicable.
