The Opportunity:

As Head of Year, you will lead a dedicated team and play a vital role in supporting the academic and pastoral development of students. This is a key leadership position that requires a passionate and driven individual who is committed to achieving excellence in both teaching and student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the year group, working closely with the Deputy Head of Year and SEND Deputy Head of Year
  • Coordinate and support a team of dedicated tutors
  • Maintain regular communication with parents to discuss student progress
  • Deliver inspiring and aspirational weekly assemblies
  • Support and coordinate mentoring, counselling, and careers sessions
  • Analyse and action key data to improve attendance, behaviour, and academic achievement
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and student aspiration
  • Ensure consistent standards of teaching, learning, and assessment

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a school setting
  • Strong track record in improving student attainment and progress
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively
  • Experience in pastoral care and student support

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a year group and managing a large team
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies
  • Familiarity with the Beacon Multi Academy Trust and its values
