The Opportunity:
As a Head of Year, you will play a vital role in supporting student achievement and well-being. You will work closely with key leads to monitor student progress, implement behavior strategies, and provide mentorship and pastoral care. This is a dynamic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track student progress, ensuring consistent support and intervention where needed.
- Implement the school’s Celebration, Award & Behaviour Procedures effectively.
- Provide mentoring and pastoral support to students to help them overcome learning obstacles.
- Build positive, effective relationships with students and maintain appropriate boundaries.
- Coordinate with Attendance, Behaviour, and Progress Leads to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
- Manage administrative tasks and support the year group with organizational needs.
- Work collaboratively with the team to prioritize workloads and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Promote a culture of respect, kindness, and ambition within the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within education.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- Experience in supporting student well-being and academic progress.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in leading and managing a year group.
- Knowledge of behavior management and pastoral care strategies.
- Experience with mentoring and student interventions.
- Familiarity with school systems and administrative procedures.
