Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a year group, ensuring the well-being, academic progress, and personal development of students.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and support student behavior, attendance, and achievement, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and engagement.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to school-wide initiatives and policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, ensuring they feel safe, respected, and motivated to succeed.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, student assemblies, and parent-teacher events.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student performance and behavior.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a similar leadership role within a school setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to manage a team and build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality education and fostering a positive school culture.

Preferred

  • Experience in a high-performing school or educational trust.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and student progress monitoring.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support strategies.
  • Familiarity with the principles of the SEARCH Education Trust.
