The Opportunity:

As a Headteacher, you will lead the development of a brand-new school focused on transforming the lives of children and young people with complex needs. This is a unique opportunity to shape a school built on a strong therapeutic ethos, where safety, wellbeing, and academic progress are at the heart of everything.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish the vision and culture of a new specialist school for students with complex needs
  • Embed trauma-informed and therapeutic practices across all areas of the school
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for a specialist SEMH/Autism school
  • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality education and support
  • Develop and maintain a safe, nurturing environment for pupils and staff
  • Recruit, train, and develop a highly skilled teaching and support team
  • Collaborate with therapy colleagues to deliver individualised learning and support pathways
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, quality, and operational standards

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experienced Headteacher or Deputy Head with a proven track record
  • Qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) with significant experience in SEN leadership
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks and school improvement
  • Skilled in budget, resource, and change management
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and leading new schools or educational initiatives
  • Background in therapeutic or trauma-informed education practices
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex needs
