The Opportunity:

As a Health and Social Care Lecturer (Fixed Term), you will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across a range of full-time and part-time programmes. You will play a vital role in shaping the learning experience of students, ensuring they develop essential skills and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across full-time and part-time programmes in Health and Social Care.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning activities that promote literacy, numeracy, and digital capability.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and support the delivery of basic and key skills.
  • Maximize learner attendance, retention, and punctuality within assigned groups.
  • Ensure an outstanding learning experience for all students through innovative and creative teaching methods.
  • Support the use of digital tools and e-learning platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assessment to support student progress and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Comprehensive subject knowledge in Health and Social Care.
  • Understanding of current educational initiatives and teaching practices.
  • Intermediate IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in planning and delivering engaging learning activities.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with learner management systems and e-learning platforms.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and supporting diverse learners.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language.
