The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs. This is a fixed term role until 31 August 2026, offering a supportive and dedicated working environment within the Learning Support Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support individual students with special educational needs through tailored strategies and interventions.
  • Deliver small group interventions for students with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
  • Work within whole class settings across the curriculum to support all students.
  • Plan and develop effective learning strategies in collaboration with teaching staff.
  • Provide consistent and high-quality support to improve student outcomes and progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to support student learning and wellbeing.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering individualised learning plans.
  • Experience with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and strategies.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on full-time equivalent or pro-rata hours.
  • Term-time only working pattern (39 weeks per year).
  • Flexible working options (4 or 5 days per week).
