The Opportunity:

This Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEND) role offers the chance to lead a new Informal Enhanced Provision, working with the SENCo and class teachers to support students with complex needs. The successful candidate will shape and deliver a bespoke, child-led curriculum and manage a team of Learning Support Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a child-led, bespoke curriculum for students with complex additional needs.
  • Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to support students in a small group setting.
  • Line manage Learning Support Assistants, providing guidance and ensuring the team delivers high-quality support.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities that meet individual student needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress using effective and embedded planning systems.
  • Collaborate with staff across the school to ensure a consistent and inclusive approach to teaching and learning.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and support career progression.
  • Support the ongoing development and management of the Informal Enhanced Provision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with experience in supporting students with a range of SEN needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and lead a group of Learning Support Assistants.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education practices and child-led learning approaches.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and managing a new provision or initiative.
  • Knowledge of various SEN needs and strategies for supporting students with complex additional needs.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and assessment systems.
  • Previous experience in a school-led initiative or similar role.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary on Scale 6 (£31,034 per annum, Full Time Equivalent £35,515).
  • Term time only working pattern with 36 hours per week and INSET days.
