The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and committed History Teacher to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role offers the chance to shape student learning, contribute to curriculum development, and support a school culture that values excellence, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons that foster curiosity and deepen students’ understanding of the world.
  • Collaborate with the Humanities team to plan and deliver an ambitious and coherent curriculum.
  • Support student behaviour, inclusion, and safeguarding to ensure every student feels safe and valued.
  • Promote strong student progress and personal development, particularly for vulnerable or disadvantaged learners.
  • Embed the school’s ethos, vision, and inclusive culture in all aspects of teaching and school life.
  • Participate in initiatives, enrichment opportunities, and the broader life of the school to support wider improvement priorities.
  • Drive excellence in teaching and learning through effective assessment and continuous professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching History at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong track record of delivering high-quality lessons and achieving positive student outcomes.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a Catholic school or similar educational environment.
  • Experience with curriculum development and leadership in a team setting.
  • Familiarity with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or supporting EAL students.
  • Experience in pastoral or safeguarding roles within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of Catholic values and the role of religion in education.
