Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-informed history lessons that engage students of all abilities.
  • Support students in developing the skills needed to think and write like historians.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the History department to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure positive outcomes across the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad and balanced history curriculum.
  • Encourage student curiosity and a passion for the subject.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and school events as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in history education.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective lessons that promote student engagement and achievement.
  • Strong knowledge of historical topics and the ability to teach across the curriculum.
  • Commitment to student success and the ability to support learners of all abilities.
  • Experience in a school setting with a focus on evidence-informed teaching practices.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering GCSE and A level history courses.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL).
  • Leadership experience within a school or department.
  • Experience in developing and leading extracurricular activities.
  • Familiarity with using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
