Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-informed history lessons that engage students of all abilities.
- Support students in developing the skills needed to think and write like historians.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the History department to enhance teaching and learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure positive outcomes across the curriculum.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad and balanced history curriculum.
- Encourage student curiosity and a passion for the subject.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events as required.
- Maintain accurate records and report student progress to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in history education.
- Proven ability to deliver effective lessons that promote student engagement and achievement.
- Strong knowledge of historical topics and the ability to teach across the curriculum.
- Commitment to student success and the ability to support learners of all abilities.
- Experience in a school setting with a focus on evidence-informed teaching practices.
Preferred
- Experience in delivering GCSE and A level history courses.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL).
- Leadership experience within a school or department.
- Experience in developing and leading extracurricular activities.
- Familiarity with using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
