The Opportunity:

As a Science Technician, you will support high-quality science teaching and learning in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, experiment-based work and wants to make a real impact on student learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, set up and clear away materials and equipment for practical lessons
• Support teachers during experiments and demonstrations
• Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure it is safe, clean and ready for use
• Manage chemical and equipment inventories, including safe storage and disposal
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations such as COSHH and CLEAPSS
• Assist in developing new demonstrations and practical activities
• Support administrative tasks within the science department

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently
• Confidence with practical tasks and a genuine interest in science
• Excellent communication skills with staff and students
• Commitment to safety and best practice in laboratory procedures
• Ability to manage workload effectively in a busy school environment

Preferred

• Experience in a school or laboratory setting
• Previous training in COSHH or CLEAPSS

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive salary range of £22,000 – £25,000
• Term-time only contract (41.6 weeks), permanent, part-time
