As a History Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality lessons and inspiring students to achieve excellent outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive department dedicated to student success and innovation in teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to achieve excellent student outcomes.
  • Set and mark work in accordance with school and departmental assessment policies.
  • Provide pastoral care and support for students, promoting high standards of behaviour and attendance.
  • Develop strong rapport with students to facilitate effective learning.
  • Liaise with the Head of Department to support teaching and learning administration.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, team meetings, and other relevant events.
  • Teach in other departments where required.
  • Communicate and consult with parents, carers and students as appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree and teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards this).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage learning and implement a student-centred approach.
  • Awareness of current developments in the subject area.
  • High level of organisational and administrative skills.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching History at A Level or equivalent.
  • Experience with OCR or Edexcel qualifications.
  • Experience in delivering extracurricular activities or leading residential trips.
  • Experience in pastoral support and student engagement.
