As a History Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality lessons and inspiring students to achieve excellent outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive department dedicated to student success and innovation in teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to achieve excellent student outcomes.
- Set and mark work in accordance with school and departmental assessment policies.
- Provide pastoral care and support for students, promoting high standards of behaviour and attendance.
- Develop strong rapport with students to facilitate effective learning.
- Liaise with the Head of Department to support teaching and learning administration.
- Attend and contribute to staff meetings, team meetings, and other relevant events.
- Teach in other departments where required.
- Communicate and consult with parents, carers and students as appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree and teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards this).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage learning and implement a student-centred approach.
- Awareness of current developments in the subject area.
- High level of organisational and administrative skills.
- Commitment to equality, diversity and safeguarding.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching History at A Level or equivalent.
- Experience with OCR or Edexcel qualifications.
- Experience in delivering extracurricular activities or leading residential trips.
- Experience in pastoral support and student engagement.
