Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging History lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of schemes of work and teaching resources.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
- Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and collaborative teaching initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the History department.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment for students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Promote the school’s values of respect, kindness, pride, and responsibility in all interactions with students and colleagues.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
- Experience in teaching History at Key Stage 3 and/or 4.
- A passion for History and a commitment to student success.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching at Key Stage 5 (Sixth Form).
- Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
- Experience with using a range of teaching styles and digital resources in the classroom.
- Experience with curriculum development and resource creation.
- Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives.
