The Opportunity:

As the HR & Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the school meets all legal and regulatory requirements. You will provide expert HR support and maintain safe recruitment practices, contributing to a positive and compliant school culture. This is an essential role for someone with a strong background in HR and education compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all HR and compliance functions within the school.
  • Ensure full compliance with ISI and government regulations.
  • Provide confidential HR support to staff, including recruitment, disciplinary processes, and employee relations.
  • Advise senior management on legal and regulatory issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and systems.
  • Support the school in preparing for inspections and audits.
  • Collaborate with school governors and senior leadership to ensure best practices in HR and compliance.
  • Develop and implement policies that align with the school's values and mission.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in HR and compliance within an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements for schools.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Competent ICT skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident and diplomatic with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred

  • Experience with ISI Inspection Standards.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an independent school.
  • Understanding of safer recruitment practices.
