The Opportunity:
As a Humanities Teacher, you will inspire and support students across Key Stages 3 to 5 in subjects such as History, Geography, Politics, and Religious Education. This role is ideal for a passionate and compassionate professional who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Humanities subjects across Key Stages 3–5, ensuring high-quality curriculum delivery aligned with national standards.
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons that promote student progress and achievement.
- Assess pupil progress and maintain accurate records to support learning and address underperformance.
- Support the pastoral, social, and emotional needs of students, prioritising wellbeing and safeguarding.
- Adapt teaching to meet diverse cognitive and SEN needs within a trauma-informed, holistic framework.
- Contribute to Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Plans to ensure personalised support for each student.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues, parents, and carers through consistent communication and collaboration.
- Participate in extracurricular and enrichment activities to enhance the student experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge across Humanities subjects
- Proven experience teaching from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5 with evidence of strong pupil progress
- Effective classroom management and the ability to create a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Full UK Driving Licence
Preferred
- Experience working with students with SEND needs, including ADHD, ASD, and trauma-related barriers
- Experience with trauma-informed teaching practices
- Experience in developing and delivering individualised learning plans
