The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Humanities and RSHE lessons across a full range of ages and abilities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and enhance the curriculum, particularly in a SEND context.
- Support students with complex needs, including those with mental health challenges, through effective teaching and pastoral care.
- Implement strategies that promote social communication, independence, and academic success.
- Contribute to staff professional development and share innovative teaching practices.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and motivation.
- Monitor and report on student progress, ensuring that all learners achieve their full potential.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the overall mission and values of the institution.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Humanities and RSHE.
- Proven ability to work with students with a range of needs, including those with SEND and mental health challenges.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
- Commitment to promoting student well-being and academic success.
- Experience in developing and delivering curriculum content that supports student growth and cultural capital.
Preferred
- Experience in a non-mainstream or alternative provision setting.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices.
- Experience in curriculum development within a SEND context.
- Passion for supporting students with complex needs and a desire to make a positive difference in their lives.
- Experience in staff training and professional development.
