The Opportunity:

As a Humanities Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping students’ understanding of history, geography, and social issues. You will create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Humanities lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and planning frameworks.
  • Develop students’ analytical and critical thinking skills through enquiry-based learning and evidence-based discussion.
  • Motivate and challenge students through effective differentiation and engaging classroom practices.
  • Promote global awareness, cultural understanding, and social responsibility in all lessons.
  • Support students in developing research, analysis, and presentation skills through meaningful homework and assessments.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
  • Integrate SMSC development and global citizenship into lesson planning and delivery.
  • Provide systematic, meaningful, and age-appropriate feedback to support student progress and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years’ full-time teaching experience in the UK or in a British Curriculum school.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for England and current assessment practices.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage students in meaningful learning.
  • Experience using data systems, student tracking, and intervention strategies.
  • Commitment to outstanding teaching and learning practices.
  • Confidence in using IT and digital tools to enhance learning.
  • Willingness to build strong partnerships with parents and support whole-school initiatives.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching History, Geography, or Social Studies.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL/TEFL).
  • Experience in developing and delivering cross-curricular learning initiatives.
  • Experience in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) or EAL backgrounds.
