The Opportunity:

An ICT Technician Apprentice is needed to support the school’s IT infrastructure and systems while completing an apprenticeship. This role offers valuable hands-on experience and the chance to develop a career in ICT within an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support staff, students, and systems with day-to-day ICT needs.
  • Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of school IT equipment and networks.
  • Participate in the apprenticeship training programme, including off-the-job study and on-the-job learning.
  • Work under the guidance of the ICT / Network Manager to ensure smooth IT operations.
  • Contribute to the implementation of new technologies and systems where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of ICT support and training activities.
  • Engage with colleagues across the school to ensure IT systems support teaching and learning.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of ICT-related projects and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Enthusiasm and motivation to learn and develop in an ICT role.
  • Basic understanding of IT systems and support procedures.
  • Willingness to complete an apprenticeship qualification.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff and students.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Previous experience with IT support or similar roles.
  • Familiarity with common software and hardware used in educational settings.
  • Experience with networking and basic system administration.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development in ICT.
