The Opportunity:
An ICT Technician Apprentice is needed to support the school’s IT infrastructure and systems while completing an apprenticeship. This role offers valuable hands-on experience and the chance to develop a career in ICT within an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support staff, students, and systems with day-to-day ICT needs.
- Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of school IT equipment and networks.
- Participate in the apprenticeship training programme, including off-the-job study and on-the-job learning.
- Work under the guidance of the ICT / Network Manager to ensure smooth IT operations.
- Contribute to the implementation of new technologies and systems where required.
- Maintain accurate records of ICT support and training activities.
- Engage with colleagues across the school to ensure IT systems support teaching and learning.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of ICT-related projects and initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Enthusiasm and motivation to learn and develop in an ICT role.
- Basic understanding of IT systems and support procedures.
- Willingness to complete an apprenticeship qualification.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff and students.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred
- Previous experience with IT support or similar roles.
- Familiarity with common software and hardware used in educational settings.
- Experience with networking and basic system administration.
- Commitment to continuing professional development in ICT.
