The Opportunity:

As a Special Educational Needs Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. You will work closely with teachers, students, and parents to ensure all pupils have the tools to succeed. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Coordinate support services to ensure students receive appropriate interventions and accommodations.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on inclusive teaching practices and SEN support.
  • Advocate for students with special educational needs and ensure their voices are heard.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and support interventions.
  • Participate in school-wide meetings and contribute to the development of inclusive policies.
  • Support the school’s leadership programme by promoting inclusion and student well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status and a degree-level qualification.
  • Experience in delivering quality teaching that drives achievement and engagement.
  • Proven ability to support students with special educational needs.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience in creating and implementing individual education plans.

Preferred

  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
  • Knowledge of current SEN legislation and best practices.
  • Experience working in a school with a leadership specialism.
  • Demonstrated success in raising student outcomes and attainment.
