The Opportunity:

As a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring and educating students in a dynamic and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Enable pupils to acquire new knowledge and make good progress according to their ability.
  • Plan and deliver well-structured lessons with effective teaching methods and activities.
  • Assess and address the needs, abilities, and prior attainment of pupils in lesson planning.
  • Demonstrate a high level of subject knowledge and communicate it enthusiastically to students.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and high-quality resources to support student learning.
  • Ensure regular and thorough marking of pupil work with accurate records.
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning and support student progress.
  • Implement effective strategies for managing classroom behaviour and encouraging responsible conduct.
  • Create a stimulating and positive learning environment that promotes student engagement.
  • Stay updated with developments in the subject area and incorporate them into teaching.
  • Support the Head of Department in developing schemes of work and teaching strategies.
  • Share resources and training materials with colleagues to enhance departmental effectiveness.
  • Contribute to co-curricular activities, including clubs, trips, and enrichment programs.
  • Participate in pastoral care, reporting concerns and supporting student well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in mathematics education.
  • Ability to teach mathematics up to A Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for the subject.
  • Commitment to student progress and personal development.
  • Experience in working collaboratively within a department.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Further Maths.
  • Experience with UKMT challenges or other mathematics competitions.
  • Experience in co-curricular or extracurricular activities.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support.
