Job Coach sought to support autistic young people in transitioning to employment.

About the School:

A school dedicated to providing specialist education and support for autistic young people aged 16–25. It offers a person-centered approach, with a strong focus on preparing learners for life beyond college through tailored learning and community partnerships.

The Opportunity:

As a Job Coach, you will play a vital role in helping autistic young people transition from supported internships into meaningful employment. You will guide graduates through the job search process, provide coaching, and support employers in creating inclusive workplaces. This is a key role in empowering young people to achieve independence and success in their careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide graduates through the job search process, helping them identify and apply for suitable opportunities.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group sessions on CV writing, cover letters, and interview techniques.
  • Provide personalized job coaching to support graduates in understanding their roles and developing essential workplace skills.
  • Collaborate with employers to ensure inclusive and supportive work environments.
  • Maintain regular contact with graduates and employers to address challenges and celebrate successes.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with autistic young people or individuals with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and provide support in a coaching environment.
  • Understanding of inclusive employment practices.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred

  • Experience in job coaching or employment support.
  • Knowledge of supported employment models.
  • Experience with CV writing, interview techniques, or career development.
  • Familiarity with the needs of autistic individuals in the workplace.

  • Competitive salary within Band 4, point 53 (£32,623).
