The Opportunity:

As a Job Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting autistic young people to develop workplace skills, build confidence, and transition into meaningful employment. You will work in a dynamic and inclusive environment, making a real difference in the lives of interns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised, on-site job coaching and training to interns within the host business
  • Support interns in developing workplace skills, confidence, and independence
  • Collaborate with managers and staff to ensure inclusive employment practices are followed
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers to share progress and address support needs
  • Monitor intern progress against agreed outcomes and contribute to reviews and reports
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and professional workplace standards
  • Support interns in transitioning to sustained paid employment where possible

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience supporting young people or adults with additional needs, disabilities, or barriers to employment
  • Understanding of autism and inclusive employment practices (or willingness to learn)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
  • Flexible and solution-focused approach

Preferred

  • Experience working in supported internship or employment programmes
  • Knowledge of autism-specific support strategies
  • Experience in training or coaching roles
  • Familiarity with education and support frameworks for autistic individuals
