Summary:

KS1/2 Tutor needed in Woking with experience in SEN support.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced KS1/2 Tutor to join our team and make a meaningful impact on students’ lives. This role offers the opportunity to work with students with special educational needs, using a supportive and individualised approach to help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, structured tuition to KS1/2 students with special educational needs
  • Follow the Bright Heart Approach, focusing on building trust, self-esteem, and academic progress
  • Prepare and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Communicate regularly with parents and education consultants to track student progress
  • Attend training and ongoing professional development to enhance tutoring skills
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and feedback
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
  • Collaborate with other tutors and education professionals to support student success

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong subject knowledge in KS1/2 curriculum areas
  • University qualification or currently studying towards one, along with A-levels
  • Passion for teaching and supporting students with special educational needs
  • Valid Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list
  • Ability to provide 2 professional references and a parent reference

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Previous experience in SEN tuition or teaching
  • Flexibility to tutor in the Woking area and willingness to travel
  • Experience with online and in-person tutoring methods
  • Familiarity with the Bright Heart Approach and special needs education
