The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team on a maternity cover basis. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners in a welcoming and collaborative school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the teaching and learning of Key Stage 1 students in a nurturing environment.
• Assist in planning and delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with individual learning needs.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Work closely with teachers and colleagues to ensure consistent and effective teaching practices.
• Monitor and support student progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
• Contribute to the development of inclusive and innovative teaching strategies.
• Promote a culture of respect, encouragement, and high standards in all aspects of student learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A genuine enthusiasm for working with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• A patient and sensitive approach to working with children of all abilities.
• A willingness to learn and grow within the role.

Preferred

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working in a school or educational setting.
• Familiarity with Key Stage 1 curriculum and teaching methods.
• A positive attitude and a good sense of humour.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive salary between £21,050 and £23,800 per annum.
• Term-time only working hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm).
• One-year fixed-term contract.
