The Opportunity:

A Sports Assistant Graduate is needed to support the sporting and co-curricular programme at a school. This role is ideal for graduates looking to gain experience in education, with the potential to develop a career in teaching. The position offers a comprehensive induction and CPD programme, along with a competitive remuneration package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist professional sports coaches and PE/games staff across the curriculum.
  • Support the delivery of sports and co-curricular activities, including Saturday fixtures and school trips.
  • Play to a good club level or above in one of the main term sports.
  • Gain coaching experience in a range of sports, with a specialism in one sport being essential.
  • Participate in pre-season training and summer camp activities as required.
  • Work flexibly across 5 days per week, including early mornings and evenings.
  • Support boarding duties as required, outside of contracted hours.
  • Engage in professional development and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree in any discipline.
  • Experience playing to a good club level or above in one of the main term sports.
  • A specialism in one of the following sports: rugby, netball, hockey, or cricket.
  • Enthusiasm, flexibility, and a positive approach to all games.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and participate fully in a busy and thriving school environment.

Preferred

  • Coaching experience in a range of sports.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
