The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated School Minibus Driver to ensure the safe and reliable transport of learners. This role is essential for supporting daily pick-ups and drop-offs, as well as special events, with a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow planned routes for the collection and drop-off of learners at agreed times and locations.
  • Report any issues with school transport to the line manager promptly.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and presentability of the minibus at all times.
  • Report any learner late arrivals to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Transport pupils to special events or activities as required.
  • Perform routine vehicle checks and report any issues immediately.
  • Support school operations as directed by the Operations Manager or Head of School.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement (or equivalent).
  • Eligibility to obtain a PCV licence and Driver CPC qualification.
  • Good driving record with no serious endorsements.
  • Ability to carry out routine vehicle checks and report issues.
  • Excellent health and physical fitness to assist with boarding, seatbelts, and emergency procedures.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Clear and respectful communication skills.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • First Aid training or willingness to undertake it.
  • Calm, patient, and professional demeanour.
  • Flexibility to support occasional trips or schedule changes.
  • Awareness of SEND and inclusive transport needs.
  • Basic record-keeping skills (e.g. mileage, incidents).
  • Team-oriented approach and positive attitude.
  • Commitment to upholding the school’s values and representing it well to families and the public.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £11,000 - £13,200 depending on licence and experience.
  • Term-time contract of 32 weeks per annum.
  • Flexible working hours: 6.15am - 8.30am and 3.45pm - 6pm.
