The Opportunity:

As Vice Principal, you will play a key role in supporting the leadership team and driving the school’s vision forward. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes, staff development, and the overall academic success of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the headteacher in developing and implementing the school’s strategic vision and improvement plan.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of key areas including teaching and learning, staff development, and pastoral care.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to ensure consistent standards of teaching, behavior, and student progress.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff and students, providing targeted support and feedback.
  • Develop and lead initiatives that promote inclusion, diversity, and well-being across the school community.
  • Represent the school at internal and external meetings, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including safeguarding and data protection.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support the school’s mission and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, and student progress.
  • Experience in managing and developing staff, including performance management and professional development.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational organization.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching practices and strategies for improving student outcomes.
  • Experience in leading or supporting the development of a Resource Base for students with SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • Experience with flexible working arrangements and staff well-being initiatives.
