The Opportunity:

As a Lead Practitioner Primary, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Strong Foundations provision, focusing on literacy and numeracy at a critical transition point. This is a transformative opportunity to lead inclusive education and support vulnerable learners in a dynamic secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion inclusive education and coordinate targeted support for vulnerable learners.
  • Design and deliver a bespoke curriculum that addresses the four pillars of the Ofsted Inspection Framework.
  • Lead evidence-informed interventions and develop staff expertise in vocabulary instruction and linguistic foundations.
  • Establish robust tracking systems to demonstrate the impact of interventions.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Collaborate with the team of Lead Practitioners to ensure high-quality provision across subjects.
  • Promote the school as a leader in Strong Foundations provision at secondary level.
  • Support the development of students’ oracy and communication skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a KS2 Primary teacher with expertise in early reading development and phonics progression.
  • Strong knowledge of structured literacy approaches and evidence-based practice.
  • Experience in working with students with SEND and those facing disadvantage.
  • Ability to design and deliver a bespoke curriculum.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • Specialism in Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
  • Passion for developing students’ oracy and communication skills.
  • Experience in curriculum design and staff development.
  • Familiarity with the Ofsted Inspection Framework and its four pillars.
