As a Lead Science Technician (Maternity Cover), you will play a key role in supporting the Science Department during a critical period. Your responsibilities will include managing laboratory resources, ensuring health and safety standards are met, and assisting in the delivery of high-quality science education. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and resources for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics lessons
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Organise and prepare practical science activities for teaching staff
• Monitor and manage laboratory stock levels to ensure continuity of teaching
• Support staff with technical aspects of science lessons and experiments
• Maintain and clean laboratory spaces to the highest standards
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure the safe and effective delivery of science activities
• Provide independent and proactive technical support to the Science Department

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in a science laboratory or technical support role
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety standards
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Preferred

• Experience in a school or educational setting
• Knowledge of teaching science at Key Stages 3 and 4
• Experience with managing laboratory stock and equipment
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in education
