The Opportunity:

As a Learning Resources Centre Manager, you will play a key role in creating and developing a school-wide reading culture. You will manage the LRC facility and ensure it supports the learning, creativity, and collaboration of all members of the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and promote a range of quality reading materials that reflect the diverse needs and interests of the school community.
  • Develop and implement initiatives and events that encourage a love of reading and lifelong learning.
  • Oversee the security, health, and safety of the LRC facility, working with other staff where necessary.
  • Maintain the LRC facility to ensure it is a welcoming and functional space for all users.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to integrate reading and learning resources into the curriculum.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of reading programmes and events.
  • Provide guidance and support to students and staff in using the LRC effectively.
  • Ensure the LRC aligns with the school’s mission and values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in managing a learning resources centre or library.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in promoting reading and literacy initiatives.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in educational settings.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and support staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic or values-based educational environment.
  • Familiarity with digital learning resources and technologies.
  • Experience with event planning and coordination.
  • Background in education or library science.
