The Opportunity:

A Learning Support Assistant is needed to support students with special educational needs and to help them achieve their full potential. This role is integral to promoting inclusion and ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with teachers to plan, evaluate, and adjust lessons and work plans as appropriate
  • Set high expectations and support students to achieve a good level of progress
  • Differentiate work for designated students to meet their individual learning needs
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom
  • Collaborate closely with the SEND department and wider staff to provide consistent support
  • Support students before, during, and after school as needed
  • Maintain a positive and motivating environment for students
  • Contribute to the development of effective learning strategies and resources

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Friendly and approachable with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students
  • Commitment to achieving high standards of learning and behaviour
  • Willingness to support the values and ethos of a Catholic school

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant (for Level 2 positions)
  • Experience in working with students who have special educational needs
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and practices
  • Experience in a school environment
