The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with learning differences in a dynamic and child-centred environment. This position is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with learning differences through individualized and group-based activities.
  • Assist in delivering a play-based, child-centred curriculum that encourages engagement and development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular updates to the teaching team.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during lessons and activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions to enhance teaching and support strategies.
  • Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs or learning differences.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of autism and related support strategies.
  • Experience with play-based learning approaches.
  • First aid or emergency response training.
