The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities across the curriculum. You will work closely with teachers, the SEND team, and medical staff to ensure that students have the support they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities:
- Support individual students with special educational needs and disabilities in a range of subjects.
- Collaborate with class teachers and the SEND team to develop and implement individual learning plans.
- Assist students in accessing the curriculum when physical or other barriers are present.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students achieve their learning goals.
- Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with teachers and parents.
- Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Support students during lessons, breaks, and other school activities as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A genuine commitment to working with children and young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work flexibly and supportively within a team.
- A willingness to undergo relevant training and development.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
Preferred
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Any relevant qualifications or training in education or support roles.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- An interest in teaching or further education.
