As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students aged 14-19 to achieve their best academically and personally. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in small groups with a focus on improving literacy and numeracy outcomes.
  • Assist in implementing Exam Access Arrangements to ensure all students have the support they need.
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, and staff through effective communication.
  • Manage behavioral challenges with a professional, level-headed approach that prioritizes inclusion and student well-being.
  • Engage students in a safe and motivating learning environment that aligns with the school’s business-led ethos.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and deliver tailored learning support strategies.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing regular feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching and support practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • 5 A*-C (or 9-4) grades at GCSE, including English and Maths.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Experience of the National Curriculum or relevant specialism.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Demonstrable ability to support student achievement and progress.

Preferred

  • Experience in providing small-group support.
  • Familiarity with Exam Access Arrangements.
  • Experience working with students aged 14-19.
  • Strong understanding of a business-like, business-led learning environment.
