The Opportunity:
A Learning Support Assistant is needed to support students with additional learning needs across all key stages, including 6th form. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with young people and committed to helping them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with additional learning needs through tailored interventions and assistance.
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to ensure effective support strategies are in place.
- Deliver individual and group sessions to help students develop academic and social skills.
- Monitor and record student progress regularly, providing feedback to the teaching team.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of learning activities that meet the needs of all students.
- Encourage and motivate students to achieve their personal and academic goals.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
- Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience of working with students with additional needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting student achievement and wellbeing.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a diverse range of students.
Preferred
- TEFL qualification or experience of working at post 16.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies.
Compensation & Benefits:
- 172 school days per year with 5 INSET days.
